Introducing our heroes

All around the world there are people who are always there for others. For those who never get a chance to start creating a better tomorrow because surviving today is all that matters. For those who every day wake up with a growing concern for their own future and wellbeing.

We thank the amazing people who give so much to help so many. And we do it by giving back with 10.000 SEK each to four selected organisations every year. These are the heroes RIVSALT wholeheartedly supports. Who are your heroes?

BARNDIABETESFONDEN (CHILD DIABETES FUND)

When our daughter was four years old, she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. This form of diabetes is Sweden's most common life-threatening disease among children and the cause is still a mystery. Unfortunately, the prevalence is rapidly increasing. Approximately 8,000 children and adolescents in Sweden have Type 1 diabetes and every year 900 more develop the disease.

For unknown reasons, the disease is more common in Sweden and Finland than in other countries. As parents to a girl with Type 1 diabetes, we are concerned about this negative trend. That’s why it’s so important to us to support research aimed at preventing, curing or alleviating diabetes in children and adolescents.

LÄKARE UTAN GRÄNSER (MÉDECINS SANS FRONTIÉRES, MSF)

Médecins Sans Frontières makes a difference in the world. We want to do that too, by helping them. Donations to MSF and their medical teams make it possible for them to continue to save people’s lives in conflict zones, natural disasters and epidemics.

With medics and aid experts across some 65 countries, MSF can be where they are needed very fast. That’s something we truly want to support.

NATURSKYDDSFÖRENINGEN (SWEDISH SOCIETY FOR NATURE CONSERVATION, SSNC)

SSNC is a non-profit environmental organization with the power to bring about change. They spread knowledge, chart environmental threats, propose solutions and influence politicians and authorities, both nationally and internationally.

Their work is more important now than ever, and companies like RIVSALT need to look closely into their own operations. For us, reducing our environmental footprint is always top of mind and we constantly try to find better, more eco-friendly alternatives. During 2023 we will move away from plastic packaging in our products.

MUSIKHJÄLPEN (SWEDISH MUSIC AID)

Musikhjälpen is a Swedish week-long live radio and TV broadcast. The mission is to create awareness of and fundraise for a hidden catastrophe. Money raised is granted to international projects within the cause.

The theme for Swedish Music Aid 2021 is “A world without child labor”. All children have the right to a safe childhood. Despite this, 160 million children in the world are currently being forced into child labor. They toil in scorching fields, are exposed to toxins in unsafe factories, crawl in narrow mine tunnels and clean behind closed doors where no one sees what is happening. Through Swedish Music Aid 2021, we together increase knowledge and commitment to a world without child labor!
